Seena Fazel is a professor of forensic psychiatry at the University of Oxford, where he is director of the Suicide Research Centre. He has longstanding research interests in suicide prevention, risk assessment for suicide and violence, and leads a research group investigating the links between mental illness and violent crime. He holds honorary appointments at Oxford Health Foundation NHS Trust, where he works clinically as a prison psychiatrist. Seena is an expert member of the UK government’s Independent Advisory Panel on Deaths in Custody.
